Helmut Esquivel claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Helmut Esquivel (196-C-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Forza and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 21-year old center had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Forza in his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Circulo (#8, 0-3) with 22-point margin 70-48. Forza is placed at 2nd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Forza will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Esquivel has many years of experience at Forza, through which he has constantly improved. Esquivel has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.7ppg) and averages solid 3.3spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Carlos Gonzalez of Monjitas BTC. Gonzalez impressed basketball fans with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Monjitas BTC lost that game 60-67 to Coeindeguasa (2-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Gonzalez is one of the most experienced players at Monjitas BTC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Monjitas BTC's star - Luis Castillo (1998). Castillo showcased his all-around game by recording 10 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Castillo's great performance Monjitas BTC lost 60-67 to Coeindeguasa (#3, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Monjitas BTC can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Castillo has individually a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 10.5ppg (6th best) and assists with 4.5apg (3rd best).
