Castillo's 20 points give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

18-year old Dilan Castillo (2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for Amatitlan and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had the game-high 20 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Amatitlan in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Monjitas BTC (#8, 0-6) with 30-point margin 81-51. Amatitlan is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan league. Amatitlan is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Castillo had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Amatitlan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Castillo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.3ppg) and assists (7th best: 2.0apg).

Second best performed player last round was Angel Estrada (F/G-1989) of Coeindeguasa. He is a swingman in his first season at Coeindeguasa. In the last game Estrada recorded impressive double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Coeindeguasa to edge slightly lower-ranked Villa Nueva Jrs (#7, 2-4) by 1 point 64-63. This victory allowed Coeindeguasa to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Estrada is one of the most experienced players at Coeindeguasa and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Juan Martinez (2001) of Circulo (#6). Martinez scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Martinez's great performance Circulo lost 78-88 to the league's current leader Halcones (#1, 6-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Circulo not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Martinez could try to bring Circulo's a little bit higher in the standings. Martinez has individually a great season in Guatemala. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.5ppg (8th best).
