Cristian Diaz claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana weekly honour

Talented Cristian Diaz (2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for Circulo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 21-year old had the game-high 54 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Circulo in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Monjitas BTC (#8, 1-9) with 31-point margin 98-67. Circulo is placed at 6th position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. Circulo is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-6 record. In the team's last game Diaz had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got fourteen three-pointers out of 24 attempts. He just recently signed at Circulo, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Diaz has impressive league stats. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard David Monterroso (180-PG-1979) of league's best team Halcones. Monterroso is a newcomer at Halcones and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.7ppg (#1). He also registered 9.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Halcones' star - former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-G/F-1990). Gonzalez scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Halcones, helping his team with a 88-75 easy win against #2 ranked Villa Nueva. Halcones have amazing season winning all 10 games without a single defeat. Gonzalez turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Gonzalez has a great season in Guatemala. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (7th best), rebounds with 7.9rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 2.6apg (6th best). He also has 3.0spg and FGP: 71.9%.
