Liga Metropolitana Round 13: Top-ranked Halcones win another game

Liga Metropolitan top team - Halcones (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Coeindeguasa (3-7) 95-60. Halcones forced 25 Coeindeguasa turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard David Monterroso (180-1979) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. The former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-1990) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Helmuth Palacios answered with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for Coeindeguasa. Undefeated Halcones have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Coeindeguasa at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Circulo. Halcones are looking forward to face Circulo (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Coeindeguasa will play against Villa Nueva Jrs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 13 bottom-ranked Monjitas BTC was smashed by Forza on the road 84-62. Amatitlan won against Circulo on its own court 81-75.

Forza - Monjitas BTC 84-62

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Forza (8-3) crushed at home bottom-ranked Monjitas BTC (1-10) 84-62 on Wednesday. Forza outrebounded Monjitas BTC 41-25 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Luis Mendez (-1995) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Juan Aguilar05 (-2005) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forza's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boris Gil answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Enzo Castro added 22 points in the effort for Monjitas BTC. Forza have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Monjitas BTC at the other side stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Forza are looking forward to face Villa Nueva (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Monjitas BTC will play against Amatitlan (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
