Miguel Gonzalez claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Former international Swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-G/F-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for Halcones and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 32-year old swingman had a double-double of 29 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Delfines (#6, 1-3) with 47-point margin 96-49. Halcones is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Halcones will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Gonzalez had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Halcones and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Gonzalez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.5rpg) and averages solid 7.0spg and 76.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Halcones' star - young point guard David Monterroso (180-PG-1979). Monterroso impressed basketball fans with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Of course together with Gonzalez he helped Halcones with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Delfines (#6, 1-3) 96-49. This victory allowed Halcones to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Monterroso is well-known by Halcones fans and together with Miguel Gonzalez they both established positions among team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#1). He also registered 7.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Luis Perez (191-F-1997) of second-ranked Forza. Perez showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Forza, leading his team to a 91-45 easy win against the lower-ranked Dark Knights (#5, 1-3). Forza needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Perez has a great season in Guatemala.
