Liga Nacional Round 8: PSM keep a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked PSM as it allowed them to take a leadership position. PSM defeated 9th ranked Panajachel at home 70-57. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Panajachel at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Jalapa. Panajachel will play next round against strong Suchitepequez trying to get back on the winning streak. PSM will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked San Lucas on the road.
Liga Nacional top team - St. Lucia (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Amatitlan P. (3-5) 80-41. St. Lucia have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Amatitlan P. at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Tecpan. St. Lucia will play against Izabal (#4) in the next round. Amatitlan P. will play against Jutiapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: Jutiapa lost to Tecpan on the opponent's court 69-83. Antigua FC managed to outperform Jalapa in a home game 40-24. San Lucas rolled over Momostenango on the road 20-0. Suchitepequez crushed Quiche on its own court 109-48.

Amatitlan P. - St. Lucia 41-80

Tecpan moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Amatitlan P. Loser Jutiapa dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Tecpan will meet Jalapa (#8) on the road in the next round. Jutiapa will play against Amatitlan P. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Antigua FC - Jalapa 40-24

Very predictable result when third ranked Antigua FC (6-1) defeated at home 8th ranked Jalapa (1-7) 40-24 on Saturday. Antigua FC moved-up to second place, which they share with Chimaltenango. Jalapa lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Panajachel. Antigua FC will meet Chimaltenango (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Jalapa will play against Tecpan (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Momostenango - San Lucas 0-20

Suchitepequez moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Huehuetenango and Salcaja. Quiche lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Suchitepequez will meet Panajachel (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Quiche will play against Quetzaltenango and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
