Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana round 4 best performance: David Monterroso (by Hoops Agents)

Point guard David Monterroso (180-PG-1979) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Halcones, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 44-year old player was the main contributor (43 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Litegua (#6, 1-3) with 45-point margin 108-63. It allowed Halcones to consolidate first place in the Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Halcones already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Monterroso had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Halcones and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. David Monterroso has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.0ppg. Monterroso is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.0rpg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 73.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Alejandro De Leon (F-2003) of league's second-best PSN. De Leon had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for PSN to edge the lower-ranked Leones (#5, 1-3) 75-69. PSN's second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. De Leon is one of the most experienced players at PSN and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Rodrigo Oliva (185-SG-2003) of Leones (#5). Oliva scored 29 points. Despite Oliva's great performance the Leones lost 69-75 to the higher-ranked PSN (#2, 3-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Leones can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Oliva has individually a great season in Guatemala. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 7.0rpg (4th best).
