Catalan's double-double lands him Liga Metropolitana Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

16-year old Cesar Catalan (2007) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked PSN and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds, while his team outclassed Litegua (#6, 2-5) with 38-point margin 75-37. PSN maintains the 2nd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. PSN will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Catalan just recently signed at PSN, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Catalan has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 7.7rpg) and averages solid 52.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Miguel Gonzalez (187-G/F-1990) of top-ranked Halcones. He is former international swingman in his first season at Halcones. In the last game Gonzalez recorded an impressive 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Halcones to another comfortable win 76-59 over slightly lower-ranked USAC (#3, 3-4) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Halcones consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. He plays for the best team in the league and Halcones managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Gonzalez is one of the most experienced players at Halcones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.5ppg (#6). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Luis del Cid (183-SF-1986) of Forza (#4). del Cid scored 19 points. Despite del Cid's great performance the Forza lost 55-64 to Leones (2-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Forza can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. del Cid has individually a great season in Guatemala. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.4ppg (7th best) and assists with 2.4apg (7th best).
