Anthony Guerra claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana weekly honour

Anthony Guerra (178-PG-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Forza and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 27-year old playmaker had a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Litegua (#6, 1-8) 77-71. Forza maintains the 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Forza will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Guerra had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Forza's top player in his first season with the team. Guerra has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.1ppg), rebounds (6th best: 6.8rpg) and averages solid 58.8% FGP and 53.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Forza's star - young center Mario Reyes (C-2001). Reyes impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Forza to edge the lower-ranked Litegua (#6, 1-8) by 6 points 77-71. Forza's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Reyes is a newcomer at Forza and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.5rpg and 3.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was Mynor Aquino (175-G-1989) of Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala (#4). Aquino showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of USAC, leading his team to a 76-73 win against slightly lower-ranked Leones (#5, 1-6). USAC needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Aquino has a great season in Guatemala. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.0ppg (8th best), rebounds with 7.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 3.3apg (5th best).
