Victor Sosa claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Victor Sosa (190-F-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 36-year old forward had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Pat City (#7, 0-5), the league's bottom-ranked team 82-81. It allowed USAC to consolidate first place in the Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. USAC have a solid 5-1 record. Sosa turned to be USAC's top player in his first season with the team. Sosa has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 55.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young shooting guard Cesar Catalan (190-SG-2007) of PSN. Catalan impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led PSN to another comfortable win 85-69 over slightly higher-ranked Forza (3-3) being unquestionably team leader. PSN's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Catalan is a newcomer at PSN and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#4). He also registered 14.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Canadian Marcus Faison (196-SG-1994) of second-ranked Solola AsoBasket. Faison scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of Solola, leading his team to a 89-60 easy win against #3 ranked Leones in a game of the week. Faison has a great season in Guatemala. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 9.0rpg (6th best) and assists with 2.7apg (4th best).
