Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana round 8 best performance: Luke Garrison (by Hoops Agents)

Center Luke Garrison (C-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Leones, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Pat City (#6, 0-7) with 16-point margin 95-79. Leones is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Leones will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Garrison had a remarkable 59.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Leones, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luke Garrison has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.6ppg) and rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Victor Sosa (190-F-1988) of league's second-best Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala. Sosa had a very good evening with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led USAC to another comfortable win 73-58 over slightly lower-ranked PSN (#4, 4-3) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. USAC consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Sosa is a newcomer at USAC, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.0ppg (#8). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Taliik Ross (213-C) of league's top team Solola AsoBasket. Ross scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Solola, leading his team to a 82-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Forza (#5, 3-5). Solola confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 2 lost games. Ross has a great season in Guatemala. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.8rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.0apg (3rd best).
