Luis Orbe claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana Hoops Agents weekly honour

Luis Orbe put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader El Progreso and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 3.
The had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Pat City (#5, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 88-87. It allowed El Progreso to jump to the first place in the Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and El Progreso won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Orbe turned to be El Progreso's top player in his first season with the team. Orbe has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.0rpg), assists (9th best: 2.5apg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 53.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was American point guard Thomas Doyle (185-PG, agency: Fully Feared Sports) of Pat City. Doyle impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Bad luck as Pat City was edged by El Progreso (2-0) 88-87. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Doyle is a newcomer at Pat City and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 8.0rpg and 8.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another El Progreso's star - Sebastian Tabata. Tabata scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of El Progreso, helping his team with a 88-87 win against Pat City (#5, 0-1). El Progreso has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Tabata also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Tabata has a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 14.5rpg (#1 in league).
