Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Guatemala: Pat City (#5) and PSN (#4). PSN was smashed at home by 16 points 69-85 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Thomas Doyle (185, college: Chapman, agency: Fully Feared Sports) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for PSN. Pat City (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourth place. PSN at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Pat City will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. PSN will play on the road against the league's leader Solola (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for El Progreso (3-0) which played road game in Guatemala against one of their biggest challengers Forza (2-2). Top-ranked El Progreso had an easy win 91-66. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and Marcus Faison who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Thomas Doyle (185, college: Chapman, agency: Fully Feared Sports) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. El Progreso have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Solola. Forza at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. El Progreso will play against bottom-ranked Leones (#7) in Guatemala in the next round where they are favorite. Forza will play against Bulls (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Leones is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to top-ranked Solola (4-0) 80-70 on Monday evening. The winners were led by Donaval Avila Jr who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds. Solola's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Derek Morgan did not help to save the game for Leones. Solola have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Leones still closes the standings with three games lost. Solola will meet at home PSN (#5) in the next round. Leones will play against the league's second-placed El Progreso and hope to get finally their first victory.
