Tabata's double-double lands him Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award

Sebastian Tabata put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked El Progreso and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Forza (#3, 4-5) 85-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. El Progreso maintains the 2nd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They are still close to the very top. El Progreso would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 7-1 record. In the team's last game Tabata had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be El Progreso's top player in his first season with the team. Tabata has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.7rpg) and averages solid 64.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Donaval Avila Jr. (190-G) of top-ranked Solola AsoBasket. He is American guard in his first season at Solola. In the last game Avila Jr. recorded an impressive double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Solola to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Leones (#6, 3-7) 72-49. Of course Solola still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Solola managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Avila Jr. is a newcomer at Solola and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#9). He also registered 8.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another El Progreso's star - guard Marcus Faison (196-SG-1994). Faison scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of El Progreso, helping his team with a 85-79 win against #3 ranked Forza in a game of the week. El Progreso is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 7-1 record is not that bad... Faison has a great season in Guatemala. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.6rpg (3rd best) and assists with 1.8apg (9th best).
