Coyotes defeated New Legends at home 97-84. Coyotes outrebounded New Legends 55-35 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Cory Kaplan (198, college: Ks Wesleyan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds for the winners and Lacewell None chipped in 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Francisco Gomez responded with 29 points and 5 steals. New Legends' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. New Legends will play next round against PIBA trying to get back on the winning streak. Coyotes will try to continue on its current victory against PSN in Guatemala.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Guatemala: Halcones and PSN. Halcones crushed visiting PSN by 33 points 99-66. Point guard David Monterroso (180-1979) nailed 24 points for the winning side and Salgado Salgado accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Julio Fernandez (190-2010) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds for PSN in the defeat. PSN's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Halcones' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Guatemala Pat City.

Sebastian Tabata fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 17-of-22 shooting from the field) for the winners. Diesel Marin produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Forza will meet at home Yolo's in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PIBA will play against New Legends and hope to win that game.
In the last game of round 1 winless Yolo's lost to undefeated USAC on the opponent's court 41-82.

Yolo's were crushed by
USAC 82-41 on Wednesday.
USAC held Yolo's to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded
Yolo's 51-37 including 16 on the offensive glass.
Hesed Ovalle fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners.
Isaias Reina chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. USAC's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
