Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana round 1 best performance: Cory Kaplan

American Guard Cory Kaplan (198-G) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Coyotes, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 1.
The player had a double-double of 34 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat New Legends (#5, 1-1) 97-84. It allowed Coyotes to take over top position in the Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Coyotes won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Kaplan had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Coyotes and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Former Kansas Wesleyan University star has very solid stats this year. Kaplan is in league's top in points (2nd best: 34.5ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 13.5rpg) and averages impressive 62.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Sebastian Tabata of league's second-best Forza. Tabata had a very good evening with a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Forza to another comfortable win outscoring PIBA (0-2) 105-48. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Tabata is one of the most experienced players at Forza and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 35.0ppg (#1). He also registered 15.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Coyotes' star - Lacewell None. None got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was another key player of Coyotes, helping his team with a 97-84 easy win against New Legends (#5, 1-1). Coyotes has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. None also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. None has a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 31.0ppg (3rd best) and assists with 1.5apg (9th best).
