Venezuela U23 won Gold in ALBA Major Group - May 1, 2023
Venezuela defeated Cuba 70-59 at the Juegos Deportivos de ALBA to claim the gold medal.
Kender Urbina (176-PG-2004) put up an impressive double-double for Venezuela with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Yeferson Guerra (192-G-2003, agency: Pro Sports) led the team in scoring with 19 points and 5 rebounds.
Joan Gutierrez led the way for Cuba with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Despite Cuba's best efforts, Venezuela's strong defense and offensive performance proved too much to handle.
Before in Group stage, Venezuela beat Cuba once again with 3 point margin (57-60) and finished Group with 2-0 while Cuba had 1-1 as they defeated St. Kitts 87-41.

Cuba - Silver

Venezuela U17 won Gold in Under 17 Group - May 1, 2023
Venezuela U17 team has claimed gold at the Juegos Deportivos de ALBA under 17 group joining their fellows from U23 who also won Gold in Major Group. Venezuela U17 finishing tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. The team's strong performance throughout the event earned them the top spot in the standings and well-deserved gold medal at this tournament. Biggest win of the tournament goes to Venezuela U17 as they beat Saint Lucia with 120-6. Quite impressive performance for Venezuela U17 side. Anthony Reyes (F) is finishing this tournament with 20.3 points per game.

Nicaragua U17 also had a solid showing at the tournament, finishing in second place with a 3-1 record. They displayed impressive skill and teamwork throughout the competition, and their silver medal is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Nicaraguan strong game against Bolivia earned them Silver medal, as they beat fierce competitior with 60-50.

Bolivia's U17 claimed the bronze medal, finishing in third place with a 2-2 record. Though they faced tough competition throughout the tournament, they were able to overcome the challenges and secure a spot on the podium. Their highlight of this tournament is a win against Dominica 82-70 which placed them in 3rd place in this group.

Dominica's U17 team finished in fourth place with a 1-3 record, while Saint Lucia's team finished in last place with a 0-4 record. Though they may not have medaled, both teams should be commended for their hard work and effort throughout the tournament.
