Venezuelan Center Nestor Colmenares (200-C-1987) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage).
The 38-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Corinthians (#3, 3-3) 75-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Defensor is placed at 2nd position in Liga SudAmericana. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Second Stage. Defensor will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Colmenares as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Nestor Colmenares averages this season 7.8ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Defensor's star - young American Elijah Weaver (197-PG-1998). Weaver had a very good evening with 29 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo cruised to a 75-66 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Corinthians (#3, 3-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Defensor consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Weaver is a newcomer at Defensor, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Gabriel Peralta (203-F-1995) of Deportivo San Jose Asuncion (#4). Peralta scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Peralta's great performance the San Jose lost 75-85 to #1 ranked Regatas. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of San Jose not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Peralta could try to bring San Jose's a little bit higher in the standings. Peralta has a very solid season. In 6 games in Liga SudAmericana he scored 10.2ppg. He also has 5.5rpg and a FGP of 53.1%.
