Mogi das Cruzes celebrated Liga Sudamericana trophy. They overcame Weber Bahia in the exciting third game of the championship series to complete the sweep. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Weber Bahia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. American-Brazilian Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. He was named the MVP of the Finals. At the other side the best for losing team was Juan Pablo Vaulet (198-96) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and American center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively.
