Vargas' 16 points and 8 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- October 15, 2022
He had the game-high 16 points adding eight rebounds for Aguada in his team's victory, helping them to crush Olimpia (0-1) with 17-point margin 84-67. It allowed Aguada to consolidate first place in the Liga SudAmericana group C. Vargas turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. University of Kentucky graduate has very impressive stats this year. Vargas is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.0rpg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Gabriel Belardo (188-G-1989) of Los Leones. He is American guard in his first season at Los Leones. In the last game Belardo recorded impressive 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Los Leones lost that game 56-80 to Boca (1-0). Belardo is a newcomer at Los Leones and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.0ppg (#1). Former Florida International University star Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Third place about best performers goes to forward Quintin Dove (200-F-1998) of Olimpia. Dove scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Dove's great performance Olimpia lost 67-84 to Aguada.
