Aguada - Los Leones 87-70 Second ranked Uruguayan host Aguada (2-1) defeated 4th placed Chilean Los Leones (0-3) 87-70. The game was mostly controlled by Aguada. Los Leones managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aguada had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Los Leones' players. Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Theo Metzger (200-1999) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four Aguada players scored in double figures. Aguada's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Cameron Naylor (202-1994, college: Texas St.) scored 24 points. Point guard Franco Balbi (188-1989) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American-Jordanian Dar Tucker (193-1988, college: DePaul) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Spanish-Uruguayan center Esteban Batista (206-1983) came up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) added 10 points respectively for Olimpia in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Boca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 3-0 record. Olimpia at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with LSB / B2B and Punto Rojo. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
