The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Colombian Tigrillos (0-1) in Medellin on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Paraguayan San Jose (2-0) 124-62. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Tigrillos' 30 and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. San Jose's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian Patricio Pinero (195-1995) answered with 25 points and 5 rebounds for Tigrillos. Defending Paraguayan champion maintains first place with 2-0 record. Tigrillos at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with UniFacisa. San Jose are looking forward to face UNIFACISA (#4) in Paraiba in the next round.
