Obera open Liga Sudamericana campaign with overtime win over Malvin

Obera clinched the first win at the Liga Sudamericana Group A. They knocked down Malvin in overtime in the opener. Agustin Barreiro (205-SF-1999) posted 26 points and 19 rebounds to pace the winners.
Obera sank 27 points in the first period to take a 3-point lead. The Argentinean team extended the lead to 4 points at the interval 46-42. But Malvin turned things around in the third term. They poured in 27 points to surge ahead. Obera limited their opponents to just 13 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Obera knocked down 18 points in the extra period to seal the win. Carlton Guyton (190-G-1990, college: Kent St.) tossed in 20 points for the winners. Marcos Cabot (180-PG-1989) answered with 24 points for Malvin. Lucas Capalbo (175-PG-2000, college: Odessa JC) and Anthony Hilliard (195-G/F-1986, college: ECSU) had 14 points each in the loss.
