San Jose clinch top spot in Group A

Obera - Instituto 63-68
Instituto toppled Obera to earn the second place in Group A. Javier Saiz (206-PF-1994) and Roberto Acuna (208-C-1990) came up with 11 points each for the winners. Obera grabbed a 35-29 halftime advantage. But Instituto ignited a 39-28 rally in the second half to snatch the win. Rodrigo Gallegos (186-PG-1991) produced 12 points for Obera.

San Jose - Malvin 66-65
Deportivo San Jose clinched the top spot in Group A. They held off Malvin for the third straight win. Nehemias Morillo (197-PF-1992, college: S.Florida) scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the winners. Malvin led by as many as 40-25 halftime lead. But San Jose went on a 24-9 rally in the third term to erase the deficit. They managed to eke out a tough win late in regulation. Franco Benitez (199-F-1994) had 11 points for San Jose. Anthony Hilliard (195-G/F-1986, college: ECSU) answered with 19 points for Malvin.
