Penarol and Gimnasia victorious in Group B

Penarol - Los Leones 101-87
Penarol claimed the second straight win in Group B action. Jayson Granger (188-G-1989) came up with 23 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds to pace the Uruguayan team past Los Leones. Los Leones led by two points ten minutes into the game. But Penarol unloaded 29 points in the second frame to take a 53-43 halftime lead. They protected it well throughout the second half and raced to the win. Isaac Sosa (191-G-1990, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) finished with 21 points for the winners. Golan Gutt (195-SG-1994) replied with 24 points for Los Leones.

Gimnasia - Leones 102-47
Gimnasia clinched the opening win in Group B. They crushed Leones for 1-1 record. Guido Mariani (193-G-1994, agency: BIG) notched 22 points for the Argentinean side. Gimnasia recorded a 46-24 halftime lead. They held Leones to just 23 points in the second half and raced to the win. Joshua Webster (190-G-1997, college: Missouri St.) tossed in 19 points for Gimnasia. Johann Martinez (2004) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Leones.
