There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Liga Sudamericana. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Paraguayan San Jose recorded a loss in San Andres Island on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Colombian Storm 82-72. Carrib.Storm made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while San Jose only scored ten points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by San Jose helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Michael Jackson (192-1987) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986, agency: BMS Sport Agency) chipped in 19 points. Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Storm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Jose will play at home against Gimnasia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Eloy Vargas contributed with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Nathan Hoover (193-1997, college: Wofford) replied with 21 points for Instituto. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Titanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Instituto will play on the road against Penarol in Montevideo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.





Titanes - Instituto 87-82

An exciting game was played in Barranquilla. Colombian Titanes faced Argentinian Instituto. Host Titanes defeated guests from Cordoba 87-82. Titanes outrebounded Instituto 46-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. Titanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Instituto was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Titanes players scored in double figures. American forward Nathan Hoover (193-1997, college: Wofford) replied with 21 points and forward Bautista Lugarini (203-2001) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Instituto. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Titanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
