Webster's double-double lands him (Second Stage) Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old American guard Joshua Webster (190-G-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
He got a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists, while his team edged out San Jose (3-2) 77-75. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Gimnasia to take over top position in the Liga SudAmericana. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this stage. Gimnasia has a very solid 3-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Webster turned to be Gimnasia's top player in his first season with the team. Missouri State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Webster is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 5.6apg) and averages solid 55.6% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Jeremiah Wood (200-C/F-1985) of league's second-best Deportivo San Jose Asuncion. He is American in his first season at San Jose. In the last game Wood recorded impressive double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as San Jose was edged by Gimnasia (3-2) 77-75. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Wood is a newcomer at San Jose and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Gimnasia's star - center Gerard De Vaughn (205-C-1988). De Vaughn scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was another key player of Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia, helping his team with a 77-75 win against #2 ranked San Jose in a game of the week. Gimnasia confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. De Vaughn has a very solid season. In 5 games in Liga SudAmericana he scored 12.8ppg. De Vaughn attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
