Titanes - Gimnasia 83-74

It looked good early as Gimnasia took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Titanes had a 23-20 second period charge getting the lead and Gimnasia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-83. They outrebounded Gimnasia 49-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Titanes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Italian Brandon Nazione (202-1994, college: EMU) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Gimnasia in the defeat. Five Titanes and four Gimnasia players scored in double figures.

The game without a history. Instituto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Point guard Leandro Vildoza (180-1994) stepped up and scored 7 points and 4 assists for the winners and Javier Saiz (206-1994) chipped in 11 points. At the losing side Venezuelan-Colombian Luis Almanza (196-1991) responded with 14 points and forward Michael Jackson (192-1987) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
