Instituto Cordoba celebrate Liga Sudamericana title

Instituto de Cordoba clinched the Liga Sudamericana title. They overcame Titanes de Barranquilla 81-72 in the Final on Sunday. Bryan Jefferson (201-F-1994, college: Mary) came up with 23 points to pace the winners. Nathan Hoover (193-F-1997, college: Wofford) added 22 points for the champions as he was named the MVP. Titanes grabbed a 22-21 lead after ten minutes. They extended the margin in the second frame. Titanes accumulated a 46-34 halftime advantage. But Instituto turned things around in the third term. The Argentinean team used a 30-11 rally in the quarter to surge ahead. They held Titanes to just 15 points in the fourth period and raced to the win. Jonathan Rodriguez (196-G/F-1987, college: Campbell) answered with 17 points for Titanes. Eloy Vargas (211-C-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) had 15 points in the loss.
