Curry's 21 points and 6 assists give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old American guard Malik Curry (184-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 21 points adding four rebounds and six assists for Defensor in his team's victory, helping them to beat Obras (#5, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 83-77. It allowed Defensor to take over top position in the Liga SudAmericana. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Defensor won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Curry had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Defensor's top player in his first season with the team.

Second best performed player last round was Cadarian Raines (205-F-1990, agency: BIG) of Club Atletico Nacional Potosi. He is American forward in his first season at CAN Potosi. In the last game Raines recorded an impressive double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as CAN Potosi lost that game 85-92 to league's leader Olimpico (#2, 1-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. CAN Potosi still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. 1 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Raines is a newcomer at CAN Potosi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Marcos Mata (202-SF-1986) of Obras Basket Buenos Aires (#5). Mata scored 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Mata's great performance the Obras lost 77-83 to the league's current leader Defensor (#1, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Mata as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
