San Lorenzo was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 20-11 third quarter run of Nacional. They also forced 20 San Lorenzo turnovers and had a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Lorenzo was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gianfranco Espindola (196-1999) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Chilean-Spanish center Manny Suarez (208-1993, college: Creighton) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Nacional players scored in double figures. Nacional's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Federico Grun (191-1996) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lucas Perez (184-1987) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for San Lorenzo.
