LBE Round 3: Soles defeat Toros in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

An interesting game for Soles (4-4) which hosted in Ojinaga Toros (5-3). Soles managed to get a 10-point victory 103-93. Soles looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized American guard Karim Scott (196-88) contributed with 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Raul Olalde (196-96) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds for Toros. Toros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Soles are looking forward to face Dorados in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toros will play against Centauros in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Centauros (6-2) which played road game in Ojinaga against Soles (4-4). Centauros managed to get a 13-point victory 105-92. It was a great evening for the former international Gabriel Giron (192-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Joshua Ramirez helped adding 20 points and 6 assists. Centauros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Centauros will play against Toros (#3) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Soles will play against Dorados and hope to get back on the winning track.
Dorados (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed NCG Potros (1-7) 125-104. American players dominated the game. It was a quality performance for Ramon Galloway who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Dorados' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cairo Brown came up with 30 points and 4 assists for NCG Potros in the defeat. Dorados will meet Soles (#4) in the next round. NCG Potros will play against Ciudad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Durrell Summers who scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dorados' next round opponent will be Soles (#4) in Ojinaga. Ciudad will play against NCG Potros and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game between Toros (5-3) and NCG Potros (1-7) in Nuevo Laredo on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Toros outscored guests from 114-92. It was a good game for Raul Olalde who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Toros will face Centauros in Chihuahua in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. NCG Potros will play at home against Ciudad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 3 winless Indios were beaten by Centauros on the road 112-99.



Dorados - NCG Potros 125-104

Dorados (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed NCG Potros (1-7) 125-104. Dorados dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to NCG Potros' 48. They outrebounded NCG Potros 56-34 including a 44-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dorados looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by NCG Potros' players. American players dominated the game. It was a quality performance for Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St.) accounted for 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dorados' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Cairo Brown (190-93, college: Benedict) came up with 30 points and 4 assists and forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: UCF) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively for NCG Potros in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dorados will meet Soles (#4) in the next round. NCG Potros will play against Ciudad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when Centauros (6-2) beat Ciudad (0-8) in Chihuahua 112-99 on Thursday. Centauros made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while Ciudad only scored six points from the stripe. Centauros forced 19 Ciudad turnovers. Strangely Ciudad outrebounded Centauros 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Ciudad's players. Ciudad was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international forward Jonatan Machado (200-93) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Gabriel Giron (192-88) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Jerome Seagears (185-92, college: UNLV) answered with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international point guard Ricardo Calatayud (183-92) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ciudad. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
