Abejas de Leon (LNBP) tabbed 32-year old American 210cm center Gary McGhee, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports. McGhee played most recently at Leyma Basquet Coruna in Spanish LEB Gold. In 28 games he averaged 9.0ppg and 6.7rpg (#5 in the league) previous season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
McGhee is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Gravelines Dunkerque), Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg, Bayreuth and Walter Tigers), Greece (Aris, Kolossos H Hotels and Kymis), Kosovo (Prishtina), Portugal (Benfica), Turkey (TEKSUT Bandirma BK) and TBT (Zoo Crew).
Among many awards his team was regular season runner-up in Portuguese League in 2020. He was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 2nd Team back in 2018.
McGhee attended University of Pittsburgh until 2011 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is described as: Good defensively in the post. Good rebounder on both ends. Finishes well around the basket.
