Halc.Xalapa - Soles 69-91 No shocking result in a game when Soles (3-3) crushed on the road Halcones UV Xalapa (0-6) 91-69 on Friday. Soles forced 22 Halcones UV Xalapa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Luke Martinez (190-90, college: Wyoming) accounted for 9 points for the winning side. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Raul Delgado (190-91, college: MSU Denver) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Halcones UV Xalapa in the defeat. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles will meet at home Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Fuerza Regia (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory. It was an exceptional evening for Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) who led the winners and scored 24 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). International center Joshua Ibarra (211-95, college: HBU) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Spencer Williams (188-95, college: Wooster) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Panteras will meet Lenadores (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-93, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) added 13 points respectively for Lenadores in the defeat. Dorados will meet Plateros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lenadores will play against Panteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Plateros' 36. They outrebounded Plateros 31-18 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fuerza Regia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard Rodney Green (197-88, college: La Salle) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Joseph Avila contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) answered with 20 points and international forward Irwin Avalos (202-91, college: DBU) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Plateros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
