Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game had a very big importance for first-ranked Lenadoras as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lenadoras defeated second-ranked Racers in Saltillo 66-57. Lenadoras shot 23 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Racers only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Racers 39-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Racers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kala Green (175-1996, college: NC A&T) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the other American import forward Shamika Singleton (185-1989, college: Concordia, TX) who added 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Mitzi Lopez responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Racers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Quetzales. Newly promoted Racers still keep top with six games lost. Racers will play next round against Teporacas trying to get back on the winning streak. Lenadoras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Phoenix (2-4) at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by Mieleras (8-0) 97-53. The winners were led by American forward Destiny Campbell (185, college: ECU) who scored that evening 25 points and Mayra Gil supported her with 17 points and 5 assists. Mieleras' coach Jonathan Villegas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Viridiana Ramirez (172-1986) did not help to save the game for Phoenix. Undefeated Mieleras have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record which they share with defeated Phoenix. Phoenix lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with four games lost. They share the position with Algodoneras. Mieleras will play against Las Plebes (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Phoenix will play against Mexcaltecas (#8) in Tepic and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Barreteras (0-8) against fourth ranked Escaramuzas (5-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Barreteras unexpectedly were defeated by in Jalisco 57-61. The best player for the winners was Jemia Carpenter who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Megan Garcia produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Barreteras' coach Alejandro Rivera tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Escaramuzas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 5-1 record. Barreteras at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Escaramuzas will meet Quetzales (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Barreteras will have a break next round.
