Visitors were defeated by Rayos de Hermosillo 100-92. Hermosillo made 24-of-25 free shots (96.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Canadian forward Tyrrel Tate (196-1992, college: Fayetteville St.) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Demitrius Conger (196-1990, college: St.Bonaventure) answered with 32 points and 8 rebounds for Astros. The best for the losing side was American forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Tijuana maintains first place with 15-5 record. Obregon at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Tijuana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for Torren Jones who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Nigel Hawkins came up with 37 points (!!!) (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) for Los Mochis in the defeat. Frayles maintains ninth place with 5-15 record. Los Mochis lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Frayles will meet higher ranked Los Mochis (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Los Mochis will have a break next round.
In the last two games of round 15 Mazatlan was smashed by Angeles on the road 87-68. Bottom-ranked Culiacan lost to Guaymas on its own court 85-89.
