The most important game in the last round took place in Irapuato between second ranked Fuerza Regia (12-4) and sixth ranked Freseras (6-8) on Saturday night. Fuerza Regia was defeated by Freseras in a tough game on the road 76-82. American players dominated the game. Power forward Sidney Cooks (193-1998, college: Seton Hall) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Sierra Moore (180-1994, college: Penn State) contributed with 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Delicia Washington (178-1997, college: Clemson) replied with 20 points for Fuerza Regia. Freseras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Panteras. Fuerza Regia at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost.
An interesting game for Adelitas (12-2) which hosted in Chihuahua 4th ranked Rojas (7-7). First ranked Adelitas had an easy win 86-69. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Cameroonian guard Jessica Thomas (168-1994, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists and Danielle Adams who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American swingman Naomi Davenport (180, college: WVU) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelitas have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Rojas at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost.
An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 5th ranked Panteras in a game in Potosi versus Santas (#8) 89-78. The winners were led by Hillary Martinez who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Tinara Moore did not help to save the game for Panteras. Santas (5-9) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Correcaminos. Loser Panteras keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Freseras.
In the last two games of round 8 Halcones beat Correcaminos on the road 72-63. Freseras lost to Fuerza Regia on its own court 61-72.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 21 points and 6 rebounds by Mayra Gil of Freseras.
