LNBP Round 7 (Regular Season): Plateros lose their first game against Lobos BUAP

After 7 rounds played we can already see who rules in the LNBP and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was the first loss of Plateros (4-1) in Puebla on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Lobos BUAP (2-3) 87-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Plateros. Lobos BUAP shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Jordan Goldwire (188-1999, college: Oklahoma, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Karim Rodriguez (196-1988) helped adding 14 points and 5 assists. Lobos BUAP's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Michael Bryson (193-1994, college: UCSB) responded with 23 points. Lobos BUAP moved-up to tenth place. Plateros at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. Lobos BUAP are again looking forward to face league's leader Plateros in Fresnillo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plateros will have a break next round.
Halcones UV Xalapa has finally registered their first victory this season after one consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Santos (3-2) on the road game in San Luis Potosi 97-84. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Jovanovic (211-1994, college: USC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Clevin Hannah accounted for 13 points and 9 assists. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Kevin Allen (211-1994, college: Emporia St., agency: BIG) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds for Santos in the defeat. Halcones UV Xalapa (1-1) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Santos at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Panteras and El Calor. Halc.Xalapa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santos will play at home against Halc.Xalapa (#11) and hope to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Freseras (0-3) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to eighth ranked Panteras (3-2) 94-88 on Thursday evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Stedmon Lemon fired 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Panteras' coach Manolo Cintron used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Jimond Ivey produced 29 points for lost side. Panteras moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Santos and El Calor. Loser Freseras still closes the standings with three games lost. Panteras will again meet at home bottom-ranked Freseras (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Freseras will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 7 El Calor destroyed Halc.Rojos on the opponent's court 94-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points by Anthony Tarke of Freseras.

American center Kevin Allen (211-1994, college: Emporia St., agency: BIG) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Lamonte Bearden (191-1995, college: WKU) added 21 points respectively for Santos in the defeat. Halc.Rojos - El Calor 74-94

Very expected game in Veracruz where 10th ranked Halcones Rojos (1-2) were crushed by sixth ranked El Calor (3-2) 94-74 on Thursday. El Calor dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Halcones Rojos' 28. American swingman Cameron Mitchell (195-1992, college: IU Southeast) fired 23 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four El Calor players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican guard Eric Ayala (198-1999, college: Maryland) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-1983, college: Arizona St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. El Calor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Panteras and Santos. Loser Halcones Rojos dropped to the twelfth position with two games lost. El Calor will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halc.Rojos will play again against El Calor (#4) and hope to win that game.
