Libelulas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Univ. Modelo's 24 and made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Libelulas forced 30 Univ. Modelo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Univ. Modelo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Gladiana Avila stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) chipped in 18 points. At the losing side guard Valeria Cachon (172-2006) responded with 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mieleras' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kalla Enriquez came up with 2 points and 13 rebounds for Penguins in the defeat. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Mieleras. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Newly promoted Penguins stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost.
