The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ciudad de Mexico: Libelulas (#2) and Huskys (#8). Huskys were crushed at home by 72 points 43-115 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Libelulas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Huskys' 28. Libelulas forced 31 Huskys turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Libelulas looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Huskys' players. The former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals for the winners and forward Montserrat Aguilar (181-1998, agency: Daggers Sports) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. Libelulas' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Emily Herrejon responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Libelulas (14-2) have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain second place having just two points less than leader Mieleras. Huskys lost seventh consecutive game. Guard Fernanda Fausto (172) nailed 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Cinthya Dominguez accounted for 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international Gabriela Castrejon came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for Las Avispas in the defeat. Toritas maintains seventh place with 4-12 record. Las Avispas at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost.
In the last two games of round 17 Dragonas lost to Univ. Modelo on the opponent's court 54-58. Bottom-ranked Penguins were outscored by Mineras in a home game 48-94.
