Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Diablos' 16. They outrebounded Diablos 40-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) saved the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-1990, college: Ohio) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) answered with 19 points and Argentinian guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Diablos. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

The former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and American guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
