LMBPF Round 2 (Regular Season): Estrellas beat Mineras by three after a very close game

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LMBPF. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Third-ranked Mineras were very close to win a game against Estrellas in Puebla on Wednesday. Estrellas managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected easier game. Estrellas forced 21 Mineras turnovers. International point guard Hazel Ramirez (165-1992, college: LMU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. Forward Montserrat Aguilar (181-1998, agency: Daggers Sports) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Adriana Chavez (170, college: St.Thomas, TX) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for Mineras. Mineras' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Estrellas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineras will play at home against Dragonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Toluca. Toritas saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Dragonas 84-82 in the game for the third place. Ana Sanchez had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Yesica Vallejo chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Toritas' coach Adriana Montanez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Paola Velazquez responded with 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Toritas will play against Mieleras in Guanajuato in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dragonas will play on the road against Mineras in Zacatecas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Mineras will play against Dragonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 2 bottom-ranked Toritas were beaten by Dragonas on the road 81-76.

Dragonas - Toritas 81-76

No shocking result in a game when Dragonas beat Toritas in Toluca 81-76 on Saturday. Dragonas made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Toritas turnovers. Strangely Toritas outrebounded Dragonas 49-33 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paola Velazquez notched 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and Sharon Saucedo supported her with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Dragonas players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 9 rebounds by Ana Sanchez did not help to save the game for Toritas. Yesica Vallejo added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Dragonas will meet Mineras in the next round. Toritas will play against Mieleras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
