The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Mieleras (5-1) in Zacatecas on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by first ranked Mineras (5-3) 89-66. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Mineras dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mieleras' 28. They outrebounded Mieleras 53-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. Mineras looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Mieleras' players. Point guard Abdi Xicotencatl (165-1998, agency: Daggers Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Maria Davalos (187-1994, college: Duke) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners.
