The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeatedMieleras (5-1) in Zacatecas on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by first ranked Mineras (5-3) 89-66 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Mineras dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mieleras ' 28. They outrebounded Mieleras 53-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. Mineras looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Mieleras ' players. Point guard Abdi Xicotencatl (165-1998, agency: Daggers Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Maria Davalos (187-1994, college: Duke) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Mineras players scored in double figures. American center Jazmin Harris (190, college: NC A&T) answered with 13 points and the former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Mieleras. Mieleras' coach Jose Villegas gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mineras have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory Mineras went down to second position due to points difference. Defending champion Mieleras still keep top place with one game lost.
