Real Esteli outgunned Tipitapa to claim D1 crown. Real Esteli outrebounded Tipitapa 57-38 including a 39-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Ashton Millender (173, college: DePaul) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import forward Deijah Blanks (178, college: St.Edward's) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Real Esteli players scored in double figures. Clenia Salazar answered with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 7 assists and Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tipitapa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
