LSB Round 5: Brumas lose to Cacique D.- August 25, 2021

Cacique D. - Brumas 82-80 Brumas (2-1) recorded its first loss in Diriangen on Monday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Cacique D. (2-2) 82-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brumas. The best player for the winners was forward Jeremy Agosto who scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) chipped in 29 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU) produced 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Martell Miller (180, college: Calumet) added 13 points and 16 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cacique D. moved-up to sixth place. Brumas at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Leones MGA and Leon. Leon had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dominican center Miguel Almonte (211-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jabari Price-Martin answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Harold Barberena (179-82) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Four Leon and five Rivas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leon moved-up to third place, which they share with Leones MGA and Brumas. Rivas at the other side keep the seventh position with two games lost.
