LSB Round 11: Brumas lose to Leones MGA- September 5, 2021

Leones MGA - Brumas 70-58 There was a change at the LSB leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Brumas (4-2). They were defeated by fifth ranked Leones MGA (4-2) 70-58 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brumas. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Brumas 52-41 including 40 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Andre Coimbra (205-86, college: CMU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Leones MGA's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Martell Miller (180, college: Calumet) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Dalton Cacho (200-93) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leones MGA moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Brumas. Brumas will play next round against Rivas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Leones MGA will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Tigres in Chinandega. Cacique D. smashed 6th ranked Leon in Diriangen 108-89. Cacique D. shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. American center Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) accounted for 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Leon in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cacique D. (5-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Leon at the other side keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Rivas.
