LSB Round 28: Rivas lose to Real Esteli in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Esteli. Third ranked host Real Esteli (13-8) defeated 4th ranked Rivas (11-10) 80-69. They outrebounded Rivas 52-37 including a 37-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists and Puerto Rican guard Christian Pizarro (180-95, college: Miami Dade CC) who added 26 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Darryl Palmer (203-94, college: SC State) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Esteli maintains third position with 13-8 record behind leader Brumas. Rivas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost.
LSB top team - Brumas (14-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Leon (10-9) 91-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leon. The winners were led by American center Leon Hampton (213-95, college: Stillman) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and Martell Miller supported him with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Brumas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists by Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) did not help to save the game for Leon. Brumas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record. Leon at the other side keeps the sixth place with nine games lost.
9th ranked Tigres (3-18) were outscored at home by second ranked Cacique D. (13-5) with the biggest margin this round 116-91 on Thursday night. Xavier de la Rosa fired a double-double by scoring 54 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Jose Ortiz produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Cacique D. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record behind leader Brumas. Loser Tigres stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost.



Leon - Brumas 85-91

LSB top team - Brumas (14-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Leon (10-9) 91-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leon. Brumas forced 19 Leon turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 28 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by American center Leon Hampton (213-95, college: Stillman) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import power forward Martell Miller (198-96, college: Detroit) supported him with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Brumas players scored in double figures. Brumas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists by Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) did not help to save the game for Leon. Cacique D. outrebounded Tigres 60-47 including a 47-35 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Tigres' players. Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) fired a double-double by scoring 54 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Jeremy Agosto chipped in a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 18 assists. Jose Ortiz produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and center Mauricio Lopez added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side.
