LSB Round 29: Brumas beat Ingenieria in the most crucial game of the week- October 25, 2021

Brumas - Ingenieria 106-80 An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jinotega. First ranked Brumas faced 4th placed Ingenieria. Host Brumas (15-4) smashed guests from (11-10) 106-80. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Ingenieria's 26. They outrebounded Ingenieria 47-27 including a 27-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ingenieria's players. The best player for the winners was American center Leon Hampton (213-95, college: Stillman) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Brumas' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ronald Lawton produced 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Rudy Taylor (198-83) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Brumas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-4 record. Ingenieria lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. The best player for the winners was forward Jeremy Agosto who had a triple-double by scoring 29 points, 17 rebounds and 11 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) chipped in 35 points (!!!) and 5 steals. Dominican center Teodoro Romero produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and American James Edmond Jr (205-91, college: Lincoln, MO) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Indigenas players scored in double figures. Cacique D. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-5 record behind leader Brumas. Indigenas at the other side keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. His fellow American import Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Four Rivas players scored in double figures. Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) produced 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban Yuniskel Molina (183-93) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rivas maintains fourth place with 12-10 record. Leon at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost.
