Cacique D. - Brumas 81-71 Top ranked Brumas (18-5) recorded its fifth loss in Diriangen on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Cacique D. (16-7) 81-71. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Brumas. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Cacique D. forced 19 Brumas turnovers. The best player for the winners was Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-91) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Jeremy Agosto chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. The former international Dalton Cacho (200-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Dayton Cacho (186-91) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Cacique D. and four Brumas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cacique D. maintains second position with 16-7 record having just two points less than leader Brumas. Brumas at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Cacique D. are looking forward to face Leon (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Brumas will play against Leones MGA (#5) in Managua and are hoping to win this game. The other American import Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American James Edmond Jr (205-91, college: Lincoln, MO) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Dominican center Teodoro Romero added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Indigenas. American forward Jeremy Ireland (198-96, college: Elmhurst) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 6 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Ireland is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Leones MGA's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Camilo Ulloa replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and center Mauricio Lopez added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Tigres. Four Leones MGA and five Tigres players scored in double figures. Leones MGA moved-up to fifth place. Tigres lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. They share the position with Indigenas. Leones MGA will play against league's leader Brumas in Jinotega in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tigres will have a break next round.
